Lila Beckwith is counting down the days until Christmas vacation. Her parents are going out of town for the weekend, her college boyfriend is coming home, and she is throwing the party of the holiday season. All she has to do is watch her eight-year-old brother, Cooper. Of course, everything goes wrong when Cooper squeals the plans to their parents and Lila has to cancel the party. As payback, Lila traumatizes Cooper by telling him the North Pole is in danger from global warming. Cooper and a buddy set off to save Santa, leading Lila and her loner ex-boyfriend Beau on a cross-country journey to bring the boys home. Readers will likely not be surprised that Lila and Beau discover they still have much in common and rekindle their romance. Pop-culture references (High School Musical, Lady Gaga, etc.) will quickly date the book, but readers looking for a lighthearted, happily-ever-after romance to read over their own holiday break will enjoy the ride.
