  Best-selling author Ryan ends his Draconis Memoria trilogy (beginning with The Waking Fire, 2015) with an exciting and heart-racing tale. Syndicate agent Lizanne is back (although whether or not the Syndicate still exists is in question), as are petty thief Clay and naval Captain Hilemore. The race is on to defeat the Great White before it destroys the known world. Clay and Captain Hilemore traversed across ice to locate an ancient relic that will help them win the fight—but they can get back to humanity in time. Meanwhile, Lizanne has escaped Scorazin, taking with her the key to bringing down the Great White. But the Spoiled are growing in number and cunning, and then there are the dragons. The war for humanity comes at a cost that may be too high to pay. The series is action packed, full of intrigue, and just plain fun. Ryan deftly writes something for fans of dragons, steampunk, or gutsy characters (or all three). Readers of epic adventure fantasies like Game of Thrones should check this series out.
