100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment
This week we're celebrating the 100 year anniversary of the passage of the 19th amendment, which granted the right to vote to women! This historic amendment declared that the rights of citizens of the United States would not be denied on account of sex. However, women of color faced restrictions on their voting rights well into the 1960s. Below you will find titles from our collection covering the topic of suffrage, from the efforts of women in the Midwest, to black women's battle for the right to vote. We hope you enjoy these books. If there's a title you'd like your library to purchase, you are welcome to suggest it with the "Suggest a Purchase" option.
