When a bad snowstorm cancels all flights in Pennsylvania, Mira decides to hitch a ride with a fellow airplane passenger and three other strangers in the hopes of getting home by Christmas morning. As they drive, the storm makes road conditions more and more difficult, and then strange things begin to happen to the travelers: personal belongings are stolen, equipment is damaged, and the passengers themselves start acting oddly. It's not long before Mira wonders if she'll ever make it home in this car full of strangers. Richards' (What You Hide, 2018) latest young adult thriller will keep readers intrigued through the passengers' strange behavior and letters from a stalker of Mira's that are scattered throughout the pages, though some may become agitated by all the coincidences that seem to keep happening to these travelers, such as constantly becoming lost, getting stuck in the snow, and being pursued. Still, with a high thrill factor, this will find its audience. Grades 9-12. Copyright 2020 Booklist Reviews.
