  • Booklist Reviews : Booklist Reviews 2012 April #1
When all is said and done, Sheriff Roan Benedict knows the lady is going to be nothing but trouble. While it is certainly possible that the woman's claim that she has been abducted by the two men who robbed the local convenience store in Turn-Coupe might be true, Roan would bet money that her recent claim of "amnesia" is not. However, when someone tries to snatch the lady from the hospital where she is being treated after being shot by Roan, it does lend more credibility to her story. All of which means if Roan wants to get the truth out of his new prisoner, he is going to have to keep this lovely lady very close. Blake continues her riveting Louisiana Gentlemen series (originally published in the early 2000s) with another sultry, southern-set tale of danger and desire that serves as an excellent read-alike suggestion for those who enjoyed Nora Roberts' Carolina Moon (2000) or Elizabeth Lowell's Midnight in Ruby Bayou (2000).
