  • Booklist Reviews : Booklist Reviews 2018 December #2
Blogger and prolific author of the Fix-It and Forget-It series of slow-cooker cookbooks, Comerford has built a brand franchise based on her aspirations as a mom and professional, and her limited availability—which means zero time to cook. This iteration of the series focuses on healthy quick meals requiring five ingredients or fewer. (Spices, water, optional ingredients, and serving-suggestion items do not count.) Every dish enumerates nutritional information, prep and cook times, and the ideal size of slow cooker for the job, all packaged with a quality photograph. Selections are fairly pedestrian, ranging from oatmeal in many forms, split pea with ham soup, and chili to beef pot roast and applesauce. Occasional creativity pops up in contributions from outside (and credited) home chefs. Back-of-book material includes metric-equivalent measurements. Copyright 2018 Booklist Reviews.
