Faris (Until I Met You, 2020) makes another sweet return to the only town that boasts a self-propelled brass hippo in the latest installment of her Michigan-set Restoring Heritage series. After working as a missionary, Leah Williams is back and hoping for a fresh start. Unfortunately, Jonathan Kensington has also returned; he made her life miserable in high school and now, as heir to the Heritage Fruits company, he seems intent on thwarting her future. She wants to update and reopen her grandfather's general store, the WIFI (Want It Find It), but Heritage Fruits owns half the building. Reluctantly, Leah agrees to a partnership with Jon, but he seems to be breaking his promises to her just as fast as he makes them. They aren't the only ones looking for a second chance; Faris also brings back bad girl Madison Westmore, and introduces Christian music artist Colby Marc, who is dealing with his own issues. A welcome homecoming for series fans, this is also recommended for all who love small-town romances. Copyright 2021 Booklist Reviews.
