  Single roommates Hazel and Alfie find themselves tangled up in bed after a few too many flirty glances and a few too many drinks. They were good as roommates, respectful of each other's space in their expensive flat, and they're both surprised at how comfortable the impulsive decision felt. Not wanting to overcomplicate their living situation, they go out of their way to keep things casual. Dropping references to exes, inviting mutual friends to hang out at the apartment, and avoiding shared meals soon goes beyond the intended effect: Hazel and Alfie start dating other people. Though they were never on the same page regarding a romantic relationship, a twist of fate means Hazel and Alfie become more involved in each other's lives than they ever thought possible. Brook's debut offers a charming peek inside the messy world of modern dating, blending hard-hitting realities with frivolous fun. Fans of Jamie Brenner and Hannah McKinnon will appreciate Brook's celebration of the chosen family of roommates, coworkers, and friends who provide steady footing in an unstable world.
