520 . ‡aSam Forster grew up hearing spooky stories about the old mining town of Nugget, which is now long vacated and rumored to be haunted. Nugget isn't usually accessible to the public, but Sam and her best friend Jen are given special permission to visit when they signup to do a term project on the town. The girls take their first trip there on horseback, and even the horses are antsy. When they spot a gorgeous palomino that materializes then disappears like a ghost, they start to wonder whether the story are true. If the horse isn't a ghost, could it be the legendary palomino of Jen's family ranch? Jen believes so, and she is determined to bring the horse home. But she's not the only one with her heart set on the palomino, as the Phantom Stallion has his eye on her as a new member of his herd...
